MEET THE TODDLER TENNIS TEAM
Meet Jessica (Founder and Head Coach)
My name is Jess Mapp and I established Toddler Tennis in 2012 after realising I had a passion for coaching young children . When I was 14 I represented the Norfolk County tennis team and started coaching at the age of 16. In 2014, I graduated from Loughborough University with an MSc in Sociology of Sport whilst doing a part time role as Tennis Coordinator.
In 2016 I was part of the British Tennis Youth Group a voluntary consultive body for the Lawn Tennis Association which helped shaped the future of tennis for young people. In November 2018 I passed my Level 3 coaching qualification and have been coaching tennis at various levels and age groups for 12 years. The last 8 years has seen me switch focus to tots and mini tennis, encouraging and promoting tennis to younger audiences. I hope to continue to grow Toddler Tennis reaching new audiences across the UK, having a positive impact on children’s lives.
Meet Sophie (Activity Provider)
Hello 🙂 I am Sophie and I have four beautiful yet crazy children! I love being a mummy and love how everyday is a new adventure. I worked for British Airways as Cabin Crew for ten years where I gained lots of experience in different areas, before I left to look after my children. I also used to run a soft-play business with one of my closest friends where we ran pop up stay and plays/parties. We loved watching the children play and learn. My brother is a tennis coach and I have always taken an interest in tennis so that is why I wanted to become apart of this lovely team! I have loved the last few years with Toddler Tennis and enjoy seeing the children develop week by week.
Meet Rhian (Activity Provider)
I have been passionate about sport from a very young age, participating in gymnastics, rock climbing, football and later on circus. I also love tennis, badminton, netball rollerskating and kayaking.
I have completed sports leadership training and qualified as a level 1 football coach. I have coached football for a variety of ages and now teach circus to those from 2-102! I have also worked and managed a private day nursery; catering for the needs of children between 6 weeks – 5 years. Ensuring that there is an enabling environment for them to thrive and reach their EYFS targets. My passion for sport and enjoyment for working with young children made me want to be apart of Toddler Tennis!
